Paolina’s Custom Draperies was founded in 1960 by Peppino and Paolina Nieddu in the basement of their home in Detroit. They started out making draperies for the local department stores and independent designers. They eventually moved to a storefront in East Detroit and a retail trade soon followed.

Over the 40 years that Paolina’s has been in business, there has been very little turnover with some of the finest seamstresses in our area. As times and trends changed, blinds, pleated shades and verticals were added to the line. 

As a privately owned family business, we strive to keep the “Old World” craftsmanship we started out with when we first opened.

Paolina’s Custom Draperies has a 7,000 square foot custom drapery workroom with some of the finest seamstresses in the area. With unlimited design and color options, we can decorate your home or office specifically to your taste and style.
